Crowdfunding is the practice of funding a project or venture by raising monetary contributions from a large number of people, typically via the internet. Our team has a vast knowledge of the relatively new avenue of finding financial backing through crowdfunding. Our services range from campaign consultation to creating and managing the campaign to delivering backer incentives. We produce campaign launch videos and campaign update videos along with the coordinating the development of a complete crowdfunding marketing strategy to reach your intended audience.

The Starck Club

M3 Films created the concept and Kickstarter campaign for THE STARCK CLUB. A 30-day fundraising effort resulted in a $45,000 total raise on the $40,000 goal. The pitch video and several update videos were produced in-house. The crowdsourcing aspect resulted in doubling the amount of Facebook followers from about 2,000 at the time of launch to over 4,000 "Likes" on the project page.

Stanley Marcus

M3 Films created a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the STANLEY MARCUS documentary. The purpose was to raise $20,000 for a European production budget. The goal was met along with receiving an airline sponsorship for a crew of 4 to travel to Paris, France along with stops in Florence and Milan, Italy. The additional funds allowed for an 8-day production to capture 10 interviews and supporting b-roll. M3 Films produced the pitch video, the update videos and managed the campaign.

The Dallas Film Society

The Dallas Film Society operates as a non-profit and consistently seeks to further the reach of their organization in promoting the art of filmmaking. Prior to the 2014 Dallas International Film Festival they reached out to M3 Films to consult on their fundraiser along with creating a pitch video and update videos to support the Kickstarter campaign. Altogether the campaign raised just over $35,000 and allowed the film society to bring in filmmakers from all over the world.

Live City: Live Music and Creative Resistance in Austin TX

Two-time ESPN 30 for 30 director and Peabody award-winner Thaddeus D. Matula is well on his way to creating his Austin-based documentary highlighting the live music scene. He reached out to M3 Films to create a campaign to further his efforts. As projects can look to raise funds in any state of production LIVE CITY was in need of capturing 10 – 20 more interviews. Through the funds raised they will be able to secure equipment and crew for additional filming in 2015.

James and Jenn's Wedding Gift

An opportunity came up to give a gift that any film festival artistic director would love…the Robocop arcade game used during the production of the original 1987 film. The only catch, the console needed to be shipped from Los Angeles, CA to Dallas, TX. M3 Films created an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to allow James and Jenn’s friends and family to support the cause. As it was a surprise wedding gift the details were tight-lipped. However, the raise was a success and the console arrived safely much to their excitement.
