Michael CAIN | PRESIDENT & EXECUtiVE PRODUCER

Michael is both a creative visionary and a savvy business leader. He is dedicated to changing the world for the better based on the belief that film can, more than anything, change people’s hearts and minds toward positive solutions. Michael empowers filmmakers and sponsors to connect to an audience, understand an investment, and bring together all the pieces to achieve their goals. 

As President of M3 Films, he has gained recognition for award-winning documentaries with socially relevant content. 

Michael directed and produced TV Junkie for HBO’s Addiction series, winning the Sundance Film Festival Special Jury Prize, and has produced more than twenty feature films for HBO & SHOWTIME. 

He partnered with The New York Times on a drug prevention film and educational program, “Faces of Addiction,” that won an AVA Award and was nominated for a PRISM Award™. 

Michael’s other notable accomplishments include launching multiple successful film festivals, including the Deep Ellum Film Festival, Santa Monica International Film Festival, the Dallas International Film Festival, and EarthxFilm Festival. He led the launch of EarthxTV in 2020. 

Filmmaker Magazine named Michael as one of the Top 10 Film Festival Programmers and by the Dallas Observer as one of the Top 100 Creatives among cultural entrepreneurs of Dallas. He was also nominated, with Liener Temerlin, as Texan of the Year by The Dallas Morning News. Michael received a Master of Arts in Producing from the American Film Institute, where he was the Commencement Speaker.

Michael is the US Advisor to the WaterBear Network, the first FREE video on demand platform dedicated to the future of our planet & the Resilient Foundation, a non-profit organization enabling storytellers & filmmakers to change our world.  M3 Films and Michael produced the US Premiere of The Way of The Rain: Hope For Earth, a performance created and directed by Sibylle Szaggars Redford, in collaboration with Music Composer Tim Janis, Performance Film Artist Floyd Thomas McBee, with a special narration – spoken word by Robert Redford.

He is currently producing the Environmental Symphony which will take place at the 2023 EarthX Conference and Expo.
